Hello again. I know, I know... it's been quite some time since I last blogged. Whether you're a wife and mom, or not, time just slips by and there is not enough time in the day for everything. I've had to pick and choose on which Social Media sites I spend my time on and sometimes, a lot of times, I allow my blog to form tumbleweed rolling by to say a quick hi and bye. I used to blog a lot over a year ago, but then I removed all of my blogs and allowed my site to just sit and rest.
I have been getting the blogging bug a little more lately. So, with that said, I am really excited to blog about and share my interest in a book that I just ordered. It should arrive next week and I will let you know what I think about it as I read it and after I read it as well. It sounds wonderful.
The book is called "Breaking Up With Perfect" by Amy Carroll who is a writer and speaker for Proverbs 31 Ministries. She will also be hosting an Online Book Study on her Facebook regarding her book during the dates of August 1 - September 5, 2016. I have joined her Facebook group and I am really looking forward to reading, studying, and discussing her book with her and the other lovely ladies that are joining her study as well. The link to her website is located at the bottom of this blog post.
So many of us want everything to be perfect. We want to perfect ourselves, our minds, our goals, our talents, our bodies, our marriages, our children, our Social Media pages... the list goes on and on. Well, nothing is perfect. Only God~Jesus, His Word and His ways are perfect. If we don't try and allow Him to perfect our hearts and minds daily, it can be crushing when things become heavy and well, not so perfect. I have always said that it's our actions and reactions that will make you or break you. Nothing will ever be perfect, but we really need to think about how God~Jesus wants our hearts, minds, attitudes, actions and reactions to be.
If and when we fall short, which we will, we need to remind ourselves that we are human and that it is okay to mess up sometimes, but don't remain there. Get back up and take one day at a time IN HIM!
I am one of those girls who has to remind myself to continue to move forward and look for the best, whether things are perfect or not. I stop, take a moment to reflect and remember that my reactions will have a huge outcome on whether or not I allow situations to break me or make me wiser and stronger in Christ. I will lean into Him and into His Word. He keeps me so grounded.
In fact, I kid you not, this just happened as I was typing this blog post right at this very moment, see photo below. I had to take a picture of this and add it into this blog post, because it just fits. This was not planned at all. I would not create this mess on purpose just for attention, lol. As I was typing this post about letting go of being perfect, my little son spilled this big bag of chocolate animal crackers all over the couch, all over the floor and all over the place. He said "Mommy, please don't get mad at me, I spilled all of the cookies all over the place." I lifted my head from my laptop and just started to smile really big. He looked confused and I had to explain what I am typing about, that nothing is perfect and how, of course, I would not get mad at him for spilling the animal crackers all over. When it comes to some things, we just have to laugh it off or shake it off and let it go. ;)
Below are photos that Amy gave permission to share regarding some great quotes she has added within the photos. You should see if this is a book that you may be interested in and maybe join her study next month. Don't look for perfect in people and situations, instead, learn to find wisdom, love and dance to a graceful tune within the things that come your way. See photos below.
Love, Cindy Hasko
